• Common thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a plant from the Thyme family, originating from the Mediterranean. The taxonomy of the genus Thymus is quite variable, usually Thymus vulgaris is listed under the Czech generic name thyme, while the other species are listed under the generic name motherwort.
• 100% natural essential oil, steam distilled
• Thymus vulgaris essential oil.
• Attention, there is also Thymus serpyllum oil, which is milder. They are different species, the oils have somewhat different effects and uses, the essential oil of motherwort is considerably milder.

Use

Effects: Antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, neurotonic. Supports digestion, effective against intestinal parasites. It strengthens the nerves. It causes sweating. For inflammation of the respiratory tract – suitable for colds, sore throats, facilitates coughing. Reduces muscle pain, accelerates tissue regeneration after injuries. Repellent.

Use in cosmetics: For oily, inflammatory, acne-prone skin. Compresses or ointments for infected wounds. For cold sores and canker sores - can be rubbed with concentrated oil. Strengthening baths and massages. A component of anti-inflammatory and healing-promoting creams, ointments and balms.

Other uses: Excellent for aroma lamps, microbially cleans the air. Effective against Staphylococcus aureus.

Strongly irritating, therefore the concentrated form of the oil must not come into contact with the skin and mucous membranes. Dose carefully.
