Characteristics

• Red sandalwood, Sanskrit Rakta chandan, Latin Pterocarpus santalinus.
• A traditional incense burner, often used during prayers at sacred places.
• Its red color has a deep symbolic meaning as a sacrificial and healing color.

Use

• Sandalwood is used in aromatherapy, in cosmetics and in the liquor industry. It has mild anti-inflammatory effects.
• Red sandalwood has a delicate aroma, which is why it is suitable for smoking mixtures (with white sandalwood, benzoin, etc.) and for burning on its own. The fragrance energizes, invigorates and creates a peaceful atmosphere.
