Cetearyl Alcohol and PEG20 stearate
Characteristics
- Cetearyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol that thickens and gives creams good spreadability and slipperiness, kind of like a hair conditioner. It is ecologically and skin safe.
- PEG-20 Stearate is an ester of polyethylene glycol and stearic acid. It is a very often used emulsifier because it has a very wide range of uses and emulsifies easily. On the other hand, it is controversial because it contains polyethylene glycol (PEG).
Use
- Emulsifies oil in water, max. 30% oils
Dosage
- Body lotion: 2-5%
- Cream: 5-7%
- Thick body butter: 10-15%
