Description

Oil skin serums are a miracle for all skin types. It can help with all kinds of problems, just choose the right types of oils and that's it. This skin serum fades fine lines, reduces acne symptoms, softens the skin and helps its regeneration . But its biggest advantage is certainly its form - it is rigid, so there is no need to worry about spills or dosing with a pipette . Nevertheless, it retains the lightness and silkiness of classic oil serums. All this thanks to the ability of cetyl alcohol to transform liquid oil into a "solid" oil with a really great texture, which is extremely pleasant when applied and absorbed.

The serum is ideal for travel , which will surely increase with warmer days and gradual loosening (finally!). I tested the serum myself in a stress test consisting of two several-hour flights and a subsequent stay in a hot equatorial climate and in the humidity of the ocean. And it passed with honors! Both pressure and temperature changes were avoided without changing the structure or consistency of the serum, and the contents of the hand luggage were not compromised by the flowing oil. So, if you often travel, move somewhere or simply prefer preparations that cannot spill, definitely start mixing a "solid" oil or serum.

The biggest advantage of cetyl alcohol is the fact that it "only" thickens the oils - without changing their behavior on the skin. As soon as the solid serum meets the skin, it immediately begins to "melt" and you feel a classic oil serum on your face.

When you add another wax to the oil, you also add new, not always desirable, properties to the oil – beeswax makes the serum very creamy and slows down the absorption rate, candelilla or carnauba wax makes the oil shiny and slightly waxy. Which is desired or absolutely indispensable in some preparations. In this case, however, we "only" wish that the liquid oil was not liquid. We do not want to add wax, which would sit heavily on the skin and form a protective barrier, which is more suitable for balms intended for cold days. We want a solid serum. And that's why we have to use cetyl alcohol.

So do not substitute cetyl alcohol. Nor cetearyl alcohol or stearic acid. But what you can replace with a calm head are liquid oils. Nevertheless, we recommend that you try our combination at least once, it's absolutely great!

Camellia or tea tree oil

Camellia oil is one of the more luxurious oils that is definitely worth having in your home (plus, it's not expensive for how much it can do, so your wallet will be happy too). It's absolutely fabulous, versatile and unfortunately a bit underappreciated. It is popularly used by Japanese geishas and women in China for their skin, and with its help they maintain beautiful skin and hair. It belongs to the lighter oils, they are quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving it silky soft and supple without unpleasant greasiness . In the oil we find a high content of mono-saturated essential fatty acids and oleic acid; vitamins A, B and E. One of its most valuable components is phytosqualene, which is indispensable for maintaining healthy and beautiful skin . Squalene is a natural part of sebum, which decreases with age, which is manifested by dry skin, wrinkles or premature aging. So using squalene or oils containing it is very sensible!

Prickly pear oil

Prickly pear oil is sometimes said to be nature's Botox . Not by chance! It can really stop aging or even reverse the signs of time on our skin. It acts as an anti-wrinkle, anti-aging care, at the same time it relieves sensitive skin and alleviates the manifestations of acne, tightens pores and generally soothes . It hydrates, softens and regenerates not only the skin, but also the hair or nails. Prickly pear oil will therefore be appreciated not only by mature or dry skin, but also by mixed or problematic ones. This desert oil miracle is packed with vitamins A, B and E, minerals and oleic, palmitic, linoleic and stearic acids. It is quickly absorbed, does not leave a feeling of heaviness on the skin, on the contrary, it beautifully brightens, turns off and refreshes it.

Pomegranate oil

Due to its high content of antioxidants, luxurious pomegranate seed oil has a wonderful effect on mature, dry, tired or cracked skin, which softens, moisturizes and makes it more elastic. In addition, pomegranate oil exhibits anti-inflammatory effects and also promotes and accelerates healing, which is an excellent ability in the care of problematic skin . It is absorbed very quickly and we classify it among the so-called dry oils. Its uniqueness lies in the content of unique and rare punic acid , which can only be found in pomegranate oil.

Evening primrose oil

If you suffer from acne, pimples or other problematic skin ailments, definitely include evening primrose in your care. He can do miracles! Personally, it visibly helped me with acne , which was caused by wearing masks and respirators. Therefore, I use evening primrose regularly also as a prevention. Therefore, it could not be missing in this multifunctional serum, where its density is balanced by other oils. By itself, evening primrose oil is rather heavy, greasy and slowly absorbed. The smell isn't just anyone's either. But these are small minuses against the enormous positives that evening primrose oil will bring. It contains a very high content of vitamin E, which effectively fights wrinkles and promotes skin regeneration , and especially the important unsaturated fatty acid gamma-linolenic, thanks to which it can heal various skin diseases, including acne, eczema or infections .

By mixing these oils, we have created a wonderful mixture that has a beneficial effect on all skin types. If you suffer from acne or are trying to reduce the signs of skin aging, you will be delighted. In addition to the oils, we added soothing bisabolol from chamomile, which not only significantly softens and smoothes the skin, but also improves the absorption of other substances into the skin. Thanks to it, the skin gets even more from the oils!

We left the serum without perfume. However, if you don't like the natural smell of oils, you can fine-tune the serum with a drop or two of essential oil, such as lavender, tea tree or rosemary , depending on what your skin needs.

A few words about cetyl alcohol

Cetyl alcohol, when used as an oil thickener or solidifier, like in this serum, likes to form some sort of crystals, especially if you dissolve everything, pour it in, and let it solidify, it's possible (or rather likely) that these soft little crumbs that they dissolve immediately on contact with the skin, you will also find them in your product. But if you want the serum to be smooth and without visible separation, you need to give it a little time to solidify - when it cools down, you need to stir the serum until it thickens and cools down. This will create a delicate texture similar to an apple snack.

This light serum is truly unique, not only because it is impossible to spill :) The silky texture, the feeling on the skin, the speed of absorption and the content of unique fatty acids make the skin more than satisfied and beautiful. We definitely recommend trying it!

"Solid" care serum against wrinkles and pimples from luxury oils - how to make?

What does it take?

-           8 grams of camellia oil

-           7 grams of prickly pear oil

-           7 grams of pomegranate seed oil

-           7 grams of evening primrose oil

-           11 grams of cetyl alcohol

-           6 drops of bisabolol

-           2 drops of vitamin E

How to do it?

Prepare a water bath. Weigh all the oils and cetyl alcohol into a heat-resistant bowl and let them dissolve in a water bath at a low temperature.

When everything is liquid, remove the bowl from the water bath, stir the mixture in it and drop vitamin E and bisabolol into it. You continue to stir until the mixture cools. Periodically "scrape" the congealing mixture from the sides of the bowl, and if you see the mixture crystallizing, stir more regularly and faster.

Once the mixture is similar to the consistency of an apple snack, transfer it to the chosen containers. Let it rest for a few more hours.

From this amount, mix about 50 ml of serum , which you divide into as many containers as you want, for example , two 25 ml bottles with an aluminum container will be excellent.

How to use it?

Glide the surface of the serum with a clean finger and take the required amount. Due to its low melting point, the serum begins to dissolve quickly and turn into an oil that you massage into your face. And it is done! The serum is ideal for the night, but it also works well during the day as an oilier base for loose mineral make-up.
