Description

Solid body butters will change your life, really! A few reasons why:

Durability

We won't lie, homemade natural cosmetics will never last as long as store-bought cosmetics that are doped with preservatives. But... natural solid body butters wipe the eyes of those bought too! It will last you much longer than most other homemade natural wonders. How is it possible? You will not find water in their composition. Therefore, you can use them with a clear conscience even more than half a year after their production (most DIY enthusiasts agree that solid body creams are perfectly fine, even if they are "old" for about a year).

In order for them to last so long, it is important to remember that if they are warm, they will melt. So store them preferably in a bag or glass in a cooler place where the sun can't reach them.

Thrift and thrift

We all know that cosmetics or toiletries, especially those that are organic, natural or otherwise certified, can make a big buck. They are often overpriced and you can make them at home for a fraction of the price. And since these beauties will last you a really long time, it pays to make a larger quantity of them at once, which saves you on the price of raw materials or postage. In fact, it also saves time, in an hour you will have a ready supply of body cream for almost the whole year! In addition, you will not need any packaging for their production and storage, which you would throw away after using them. So why not save nature too?

Convenience

Have you ever looked into your purse, bag or suitcase and discovered to your horror that its entire contents are generously covered in hand cream, the cap of which came loose and all of it leaked into your luggage? That doesn't happen with stiff cream. It is perfect for traveling. Simply put one piece in a bag or box and throw it in your purse with your other things. No lids, no glass, no plastic and no problem! :)

Dexterity

In the cold months or after winter, almost all of us are like cookies. This can mainly be seen in places such as elbows, ankles or heels, which are often rough and cracked. It is precisely these places that are much more pleasant and convenient to treat with a solid cream than with a regular liquid one.

Imaginativeness

Solid body creams and butters are an absolutely ideal gift. Easter, Christmas, birthdays, Valentine's Day... simply all year round! You can make hearts, cubes, animals... and now that spring is upon us and Easter is approaching, maybe flowers or butterflies? The stiff creams will have a shape depending on what you pour the mixture into. We are sure that you will make a choice in the ecokozy e-shop - look here for an abundance of silicone molds.

And that you don't have a silicone mold? Don't be sad! Or do you prefer something subtle and minimalistic? An ordinary silicone mold for ice cream or muffin cups will also work, there are no limits to imagination. You can pour the mixture into practically anything, don't be afraid to go crazy. Another option is to pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and after it hardens, cut it into the desired pieces.

And how to use it?

We've already explained that heavy creams and butters are absolutely great. But how to use them when we are used to liquid products?

Homemade solid body creams stay firm at room temperature. But as soon as you start rubbing them against your skin, they heat up and activate. So simply rub them in the place where you want to lubricate and you're done! The cream is exactly where you need it! :)

What to put in it?

Beauty in simplicity. You can get by with a few basic ingredients.

Coconut oil wonderfully hydrates the skin and hair. It also contains a good amount of vitamin E, which is an excellent antioxidant and fights skin aging. Many studies have also shown that coconut oil can treat atopic eczema and dermatitis much better than mineral oils.

Shea butter is a miracle literally loaded with vitamins. It contains a number of substances with biological activity and, like coconut oil, can boast of excellent moisturizing effects. It also helps treat skin conditions including blemishes, itching, sunburns and skin wounds.

We also love cocoa butter for its excellent healing and restorative powers. It is therefore traditionally used to soothe dry and damaged skin. In addition, it helps reduce the formation of stretch marks (ladies, watch out!:)). Supports skin elasticity and protects the skin from the elements. The wonderful chocolate aroma is also an indisputable plus.

Beeswax is created by the transformation of honey and pollen in the body of the honey bee. It softens, softens and protects the skin. It has excellent antioxidant properties and is rich in vitamin A. Due to its consistency and physical properties, it is often used in lip balms, natural ointments and balms, where, among other things, it ensures the right consistency. In our solid body creams, you will find beeswax precisely to hold the other ingredients together and provide strength. And as with cocoa butter, its aroma is another pleasant benefit.

How to do it?

And now you are probably wondering how to make these miracles.

(In the recipes, you will find measurements given in "cups", because I work with measuring cups. It is an excellent thing that will come in handy for baking, cooking and making cosmetics. Today you can find these sets almost everywhere, for example in Tescoma, Albert, Kiku or, of course, on the Internet. If you don't mind waiting a while for the kit, look on ebay, where you can buy it much cheaper. However, if you prefer our milliliters, one cup corresponds to approximately 250 ml. When making a solid body cream, however, you can also use an ordinary cup for tea.)

Spiced chocolate

1/3 cup coconut oil

1/3 cup cocoa butter

1/3 cup beeswax

1 and a half teaspoons of finely ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Prepare a water bath (fill a pot with water, place a bowl in its center and bring the water to a boil). Put all the ingredients in a bowl and let them dissolve slowly. Use a stick or other stick to mix everything well. When the mixture is liquid, pour it into the selected molds and let it cool. If you are in a hurry, don't be afraid to use the fridge, you will be done sooner.

From three ingredients

1/3 cup coconut oil

1/3 cup of butter according to preferences: shea , cocoa or maybe mango (mix them as you like!)

1/3 cup beeswax

Follow the same procedure as the previous recipe. Dissolve everything in a water bath, pour into a mold or onto a baking sheet, let cool. Could it be any easier?

Mint with moringa

1/3 cup coconut oil

1/3 cup of butter ( shea , cocoa , mango or maybe jojoba )

1/3 cup beeswax

10 drops of peppermint essential oil

1 teaspoon of moringa (if you don't know this miracle, check the link, moringa is great and versatile)

Mix all ingredients except the essential oil in a water bath. Add it when everything is dissolved and you take the bowl out of the water bath (it could burn and deteriorate unnecessarily). Mix again after adding the oil. Then proceed in the same way as for the previous recipes.

Lavender

1/3 cup coconut oil

1/3 cup of your preferred butter (don't be afraid to mix!)

1/3 cup beeswax

10 drops of lavender essential oil

1 spoonful of lavender flowers (if you are a stickler for lavender and want really good quality, go for this selection)

Mix all ingredients except the essential oil in a water bath. Add it when everything is dissolved and you take the bowl out of the water bath (it could burn and deteriorate unnecessarily). Mix again after adding the oil. Then proceed in the same way as for the previous recipes.

With honey, lemon and olive oil

1/3 cup coconut oil

1/3 cup butter

1/3 cup beeswax

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 spoon of honey

10 drops of lemon essential oil

Melt the oils, butter and beeswax in a water bath. When everything is dissolved, remove the bowl from the heat, add the essential oil, stir and let it cool a little. Add honey only after 3 or 4 minutes, so as not to lose its valuable vitamins. Then proceed in the same way as for the other recipes.

Have you ever heard of a solid body cream? Will you start producing it? And which option interested you the most? Talk! :)
