Description

Choosing the right type and size of wick for the chosen package is the basis of success in candle making. When the sizes do not match, the candle either burns too fast and the wick melts, or, on the contrary, due to a weak wick, the wax does not melt over the entire diameter of the candle, creating a crater where unused wax remains on the walls of the package.

So that you don't have to worry about the choice, we have created an overview of the combinations that we use successfully ourselves, and therefore recommend them to you too! We have included in the selection the packaging for candles and wicks that are most popular with you, and we believe that you will choose from them. These are mainly aluminum cans of different colors and sizes or packaging made of different colored glass. We paired them with both classic wicks made of cotton or hemp, as well as attractive wooden wicks, which when burning also create a sound effect reminiscent of the crackling of wood in a fireplace.

However, we have a lot of wicks and packaging at Ekokoze, so please remember that this is only a fraction of the possible combinations and you can choose other wicks for the packaging than those listed here. We cannot include all combinations in one article, and in fact we do not want to for clarity and clarity. :) But feel free to play around with other pairings, just make sure that the diameter of the packaging corresponds to the size of the wick and before production, read our previous candle instructions.

But now to the point. With these combinations of the right wicks and the right wrappers, you'll make even burning candles and save yourself a lot of time making working pairs. For a better idea, we also add photos of the finished candles, so you know how beautiful yours will look and burn. We also add a lot of tips for production, instructions or even videos where you can see the burning perfectly on our Instagram - be sure to follow us, you will learn a lot there.

There is always a link to the photos here in the instructions that will take you directly to the product. At the end of the article, you will find a clear list of combinations that will make it easier for you to buy different types of packaging and wicks at once.

Let it burn! 😊

Proven combinations of covers and wicks

Tin can 250 ml & Ready-made wick with tin 40 ply

We have tin cans in several colors, so make candles in silver, gold, black or beautiful old pink all at once.

Brown glass container 120 ml & Hemp wick

You can choose glass containers suitable for combining with a hemp wick either with a traditional black glass lid or elegant glass containers 120 ml with an aluminum gold lid, try it!

Glass candle cover 60 ml & Cotton wick coated with soy wax 21 ply

We deliver beautiful glass candle containers in a volume of 60 ml together with a wick, but you still need to know which wick to choose when you make more candles in the same container - be sure to recycle and reuse the containers! :)

Metal tealight mold & Cotton wick coated with soy wax 21 ply

You can also make tea candles at home, they are absolutely beautiful and the metal packaging can be used repeatedly. Reach for either the classic silver version, or try the tea candles in a gold package, they are divine!

Plastic mold for small candles BUTTERFLY or CIRCLE (tea candle) & Cotton wick coated with soy wax 21 ply

You can use plastic molds for small candles both as cups, in which the candles will remain even when burning, or when using palm wax as a mold - after the wax has hardened, you simply knock the candles out of the mold (if this is not possible, put it in the freezer for a while) and the candle will be packaging-free. Use the same wick for both types of candles – 21 ply.

Plastic mold for small and tea candles HEART & Finished wick with wick, length 35 mm

The heart mold is great for making candles in a package as well as a mold for free-standing candles without a package - for these again you need to use hard palm wax.

Glass container 120 ml & Wooden cross wick 10x60 mm

You can choose glass containers suitable for combination with a cross wooden wick 10x60 mm either with a traditional black glass lid or elegant glass containers 120 ml with an aluminum gold lid, try it!

Tin can 250 ml & Wooden cross wick 13x100 mm

We have tin cans in several colors, so make silver, gold, black or beautiful old pink candles all at once.

Aluminum candle cover with spout 100 ml & Wooden wick wave 20x120

The wooden wave wick is absolutely wonderful and interesting, as is the candle cover with a spout, which is intended for massage candles - you can not only enjoy yourself with soy wax or coconut-soy wax, but also massage yourself!

The wave wick 20x120 is suitable for packages with a diameter of 6-7 cm. If you do not want to make a candle with a spout, instead of an aluminum container, choose a glass container for a candle with a wooden lid or a brown glass container with a black lid 180 ml. In these packages, the 20x120 wooden wave burns great!

Any wrapper with a diameter of 14-15 cm & Wooden wick wave for candles with a diameter of 140-150 mm

Majestic candles with a luxurious wooden wick can be made with a large wooden wave, which is suitable for packages with a diameter of 14-15 cm. We don't currently have such packaging at Ekokoza, but don't be afraid to use any other packaging in this size - for example, a flower pot or a packaging for a burnt-out candle.

If you want to try a different shape of wicks, take a look at the Wooden wick arch, which you can use in the same large packaging as the waves.

Tin can 250 ml & Wooden wick tube + Hemp wick

Tubular wood wicks are a safe bet if you want a wood wick candle that will burn 100% well and make a crackling sound. You insert a wick into the tubular wick (we recommend a "smaller size" so that the candle does not burn too quickly). The mentioned combination of a tin can, which we have in several colors, a wooden tube and a hemp wick is a guarantee of certainty.

Brown glass jar 120 ml & Wooden wick with plastic

Brown glass jar 180 ml & Reinforced wooden wick

And the greatest classic at the end! We have classic wooden wicks that are suitable for glass jars with a volume of 120 ml (both with glass and gold lids). For larger glass jars with a volume of 180 ml, it is better to use reinforced wooden wicks.

Well... we've got the theory behind us, now it's up to you in practice!

We wish you a pleasant production and hope that our overview will help you to never make a mistake again when choosing packaging and wicks. We will look forward to your creations, do not forget to share them with us, because you make us very happy! And here for completeness at the very end...
