Characteristics
- Allantoin is an organic urea-based compound.
- It is found naturally in some plants (horsetail, horsetail) and in the urine of most mammals (except higher primates and humans, primates lack the enzyme to convert uric acid to allantoin).
- Solubility: good in water

Use
- In lower concentrations (0.1 - 0.5%) it is more moisturizing, in concentrations higher than 1% it is used as a raw material in products with a more keratolytic effect and in creams that support the growth of new skin cells.
