A plant complex designed to mimic the effects of collagen, but without animal origin. This active extract contains vegetable proteins and peptides that contribute to hydration comfort of the skin, improve its structure and elasticity and are ideal for anti-aging or regenerative formulas.

Plant collagenin formulations does not mean true collagen (that is animal), but plant peptides/proteins with collagen-like effects, which help hydrate, soften and smooth the skin. In cosmetics, they are used mainly as hydrating and conditioning ingredients, sometimes with an impact on skin firmness and elasticity.

Vegetable collagen is a mixture of proteins and amino acids obtained from plant sources, such as wheat, corn or soy. These ingredients have the ability to bind water and form a fine protective film on the skin.

From the perspective of a domestic manufacturer, it is important to know that plant collagen does not penetrate deeply into the skin and does not replace the skin's own collagen. Its effect is primarily superficial, hydrating and softening. After application, the skin appears smoother, more elastic and less dry.

It is usually supplied as a liquid raw material, is easy to process and is suitable even for beginners.

Benefits of use

  • Helps smooth fine linesby improving hydration

  • Contributes to firmer and more elastic skin

  • Strengthens the skin's natural barrier function

  • 100% vegan alternative to animal collagen

  • Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive

Why “vegetable collagen”?

Collagen is a naturally occurring animal protein and therefore cannot be obtained from plants. The term “vegetable collagen” is commonly used to refer to plant-based ingredients that mimic its effects – particularly water retention and elasticity support. This product does not contain actual collagen, but biologically active peptides and amino acids that support healthy-looking skin in a similar way.

Use:

  • Added to the water phase of emulsions or gels (recommended dosage: 2–5%)

  • Suitable for serums, creams, masks, tonics, lotions

  • Can be combined with hyaluronic acid or ceramides for an intense moisturizing effect

  • Raw material for cosmetic production.

Recipes with Plant Collagen

Recipe 1: Hydrating Serum with Plant Collagen (100 g)

Why use it: A light serum for your daily routine – it increases hydration comfort and a “softer” skin feel.

Ingredients

Procedure

  1. In a small bowl, make a pre-mix: mix the vegetable collagen in part of the water (approx. 10–15 g) until smooth.
  2. In another container, mix the rest of the water with glycerin and hyaluronic gel.
  3. Mix the premix with vegetable collagen and possibly panthenol.
  4. Add Cosgard, mix.
  5. Check the pH and adjust dropwise (e.g. with lactic acid) only if necessary.
  6. Let stand for 12–24 hours (the consistency may still “tighten”).

Recipe 2: Moisturizing gel "soft touch" (100 g)

Why do it: universal gel under cream or on its own – quickly absorbed, leaves a pleasant, hydrated feeling.

Ingredients

Procedure

  1. Mix the xanthan gum in glycerin first (this will make a smooth "slurry" without lumps).
  2. While stirring constantly, add the glycerin+xanthan gum mixture to the water and let it hydrate for 10–15 minutes, then mix again until smooth.
  3. Mix in the vegetable collagen (ideally through the premix in a small portion of the gel).
  4. Add Cosgard, mix.
  5. Measure the pH and adjust only if necessary (drop by drop).

Recipe 3: Post-cleansing toner with plant collagen (100 g)

Why do it: if you want a more comfortable feeling (less "tension") and a pleasantly hydrated impression after cleansing.

Ingredients

Procedure

  1. Mix the hydrolate with glycerin.
  2. Mix the vegetable collagen separately in a small part of the mixture (premix) and then pour it back into the whole.
  3. Add Cosgard, mix.
  4. Fill into a bottle (ideally with a sprayer). You can shake gently before use.
