Discover pure vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid – a gentle but powerful helper for making homemade skin care. An ideal ingredient for anyone who wants to enrich their cosmetics with antioxidant protection, brightening and skin renewal.

What is ascorbic acid?

Ascorbic acid is the purest and most effective form of vitamin C, soluble in water. It is a powerful antioxidant that:

  • neutralizes free radicals and protects cells from oxidation,

  • stimulates the production of collagen – important for skin elasticity and firmness,

  • helps to even out skin tone and brightens tired, dull skin,

  • helps lighten pigment spots and scars,

  • supports healing and regeneration.

How to use it in home cosmetics?

Ascorbic acid is an ideal raw material for the production of:

  • brightening serums and toners,

  • anti-aging creams and gels,

  • facial masks,

  • refreshing facial mists,

  • and also treatment products for scars and pigment spots.

Dosing and processing:

  • Recommended concentration in products: 0.2–2% (max. 5% for experienced manufacturers and short-term use products).

  • Soluble only in water – we recommend dissolving in lukewarm distilled water or flower water.

  • Add to the water phase (preferably below 30 °C to maintain effectiveness).

  • Sensitive to oxidation – store the finished product in a dark bottle, preferably in the refrigerator, and consume within 1–2 weeks.

  • Can be stabilized, for example, by adding vitamin E or fermented extracts.

Tips and Benefits:

Suitable for all skin types – especially for mature, tired, problematic or pigmented
Does not contain any additives or fillers – 100% pure powder
Can also be used in preservative-free cosmetics if you consume it fresh
Economical choice – a small amount is enough for a large amount of serum
Also suitable for vegan and natural cosmetics

TIP: Mix a small amount of ascorbic acid with rose or cornflower hydrosol to create a fresh brightening tonerthat will literally bring your skin to life.

Making vitamin C serum at home is simple and doesn’t require many ingredients. Below is a basic recipe for a water serum with ascorbic acid, ideal for beginners – it brightens the skin, promotes collagen production and evens out skin tone.

Basic recipe: Water serum with ascorbic acid (vitamin C)

What you will need:

Procedure:

  1. Weigh 1 g of ascorbic acid (approx. 1 level teaspoon) into a clean container.

  2. Add 9 g of distilled or flower water (e.g. rose, cornflower, lavender) – optionally a few drops of glycerin.

  3. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved.

  4. Optionally add a few drops of vitamin E or fermented extract – it will help stabilize the serum.

  5. Pour into a dark bottle and store in the refrigerator.

  6. Use within 1–2 weeks.

Use:

  • Apply 2–3 drops to cleansed skin once a day (ideally in the morning under cream and SPF).

  • Avoid eye area.

  • If you feel a slight tingling sensation – this is normal. If it is too strong, reduce the concentration.
