Characteristics and uses

• Tepezcohuite was traditionally used in Mayan culture.
• It is very rich in tannins and saponins. Tannins are polyphenols. They are soluble in water and give the powder a red color.

• Raw material for the production of cosmetics.

Recommended dosage of tepezcohuite powder for ointment:

1–5% of the total volume of the ointment is a common and safe amount.

2–3% is the ideal middle ground for an effective but gentle ointment.

You can choose 5% for scars, eczema or irritated skin, but always do a tolerance test.

Make your own macerate (100 ml)

• Vegetable glycerin - 10 ml
• Water - 90 ml
• TEPEZCOHUITE - 10 g

Procedure

• Mix the oil with the TEPEZCOHUITE powder and shake well, let macerate for a few days in a closed container, filter after maceration, close tightly.

This is a powder made from bark, but according to the manufacturer's documentation, it is not specified whether it is bark from a tree or from the root.
