Solubility

Essential oils are hydrophobic and insoluble in water. They must always be mixed with a suitable carrier:

• Alcohol – ideal for perfumes, sprays and diffusers.
• Vegetable oils – suitable for cosmetics and massage oils.
• Polysorbate 80 – allows mixing with water.
• Augeo – suitable for diffusers and room fragrances.
