Summer is just as demanding for lips as winter, sometimes even more so. Sun, wind, swimming and iced drinks can really take a toll on the skin. This simple, caring and fragrant peeling will refresh, soften and leave your lips soft and juicy. It is also ideal as a complement to a homemade balm. Does it sound a bit strange to use a lip scrub? Here are a few reasons why you should start taking care of your lips if you haven't already. Lips are one of the most sensitive areas on our bodies. They don't have sweat or oil glands, so they are prone to dryness, cracking, and peeling. Regular exfoliation helps gently remove dead skin cells, promotes natural skin renewal, and leaves lips smooth, soft, and ready for balm or lipstick. It also improves the absorption of care products and makes makeup last longer.

In addition, peeling can be a pleasant relaxation ritual. Especially when it smells beautiful and is made from quality ingredients. Like this one, of course :) The basis of our peeling is nutritious almond oil with a little beeswax for protection and sugar, which is much better suited for exfoliating sensitive parts of the body than classic crushed shells or stones. And to make it fun for the eye, we use natural mica powder, which gives the peeling a shimmering touch and playfulness.

What do we put in it?
Almond oil
Light, non-greasy and perfectly absorbed. Almond oil beautifully softens and regenerates the skin without leaving a greasy film. It is like a gentle touch for the lips. It smoothes and nourishes at the same time.
Beeswax
A natural miracle that will give the mixture a more than pleasant texture and simplify its use by "holding" the product on the lips. In addition, it will leave a fine protective film on the skin, which is definitely useful in the summer, protecting it from drying out and the sun.
White sugar
Sugar is gentler than salt and has the advantage that even if it accidentally gets on your tongue, it tastes sweet, of course. It is gentle but still abrasive enough to remove dead skin cells and revitalize the appearance of your lips.
Stearic acid
It ensures that the peeling has a creamy, semi-solid consistency. At the same time, it lightly protects and helps the oil and wax to combine into one whole. Thanks to it, the peeling holds together just right and does not feel too liquid or loose.
Vitamin E
A powerful antioxidant that protects oils from rancidity while also benefiting the skin. It helps regeneration and healing and is ideal for any home cosmetics.
Cherry & Almond Essential Oil
This scent combines the best of summer – the sweetness of red cherries and the warm softness of almond. The result is an elegant, summer dessert-like aroma. It is absolutely irresistible in a scrub and makes every use a small fragrant experience.
Mica powder
A naturally shimmering mineral pigment that we optionally use to color part of the peeling. It does not add color to the lips, but visually makes it a summer decoration for the bathroom shelf.
Lip peeling with cherry-almond scent
What is needed for this?
to fill 50ml cans
warming up
- 32 grams almond oil
- 24 grams stearic acid
- 2 grams beeswax
while cooling add
60 grams of white sugar (fine granulated)
1 gram of Vitamin E
pinch Mica powder Sangria (optional, only for half of the mixture if you want to create a two-tone effect)
How to do it?
Prepare a water bath by pouring about 2 cm of water into a saucepan and heating it on the stove. Weigh the almond oil, stearic acid and beeswax into a heatproof container. Place the container in the water bath. Let it melt over low heat, it will take about a quarter of an hour.

When the mixture is liquid, remove the container from the water bath, dry it and stir the mixture. Then add the weighed sugar to it. Stir until the mixture thickens and becomes opaque.
When the mixture has cooled slightly and is quite thick, stir in the vitamin E and essential oil. If you want a colored version of the peeling, divide the mixture into two parts and add a tiny pinch of mica powder to one part.

Transfer the mixture or mixtures to a cup. A 50ml plastic container with an aluminum lid is perfect, in which the peeling will stand out beautifully. Especially if we play around with layering the white and colored mixture. Let it set at room temperature for a few hours.
How to use it?
Apply the peeling to your lips, massage gently and then rinse. Let your lips rest for a while and then apply balm. Great after sunbathing or before evening makeup!
This recipe is simple, fragrant and playful – exactly what summer cosmetics should be. If you like to make your own skincare at home, this is a great afternoon project, perhaps with the kids, who can have fun coloring the mixture and layering the peeling into the packaging.
