Shungite Gravel – natural water filter and activator

Shungite is an ancient mineral from the Karelia region in Russia, estimated to be 2 billion years old. This unique stone contains a special form of carbon – fullerenes, which were discovered only recently and for which a Nobel Prize was awarded.

Properties of shungite gravel:

• Water filtration: Shungite gravel acts as a natural sorbent that can remove up to 95% of impurities from water, including heavy metals, chlorine, pesticides, and bacteria. The result is clean water with a pleasant spring taste.

Uses of shungite gravel:

• Preparation of shungite water: Before first use, thoroughly rinse the gravel under running water. Then place about 150 g of gravel into 2.5–3 liters of water in a glass container and let stand for 24–48 hours. The water prepared in this way can be used for drinking, cooking, or watering plants. It is recommended to replace the gravel approximately every 3 to 6 months.

• Baths: Adding shungite gravel to your bath can help calm the body, remove stress and fatigue, promote peaceful sleep, and help with skin problems such as allergies, psoriasis, or eczema.

• Plant care: Shungite water supports healthy plant growth and improves their vitality.

Maintenance and lifespan:

To maintain filtration properties, it is recommended to rinse the shungite gravel under running water about once every two weeks to remove any build-up. After 3–6 months of use, the cleaning capacity of the gravel decreases, so it should be replaced with new one.

Ecological use of used gravel:

You do not need to throw away the used shungite gravel. It can be used as drainage in flower pots, added to garden soil, or placed in fish tanks, where it will continue to be beneficial.
