What do fragrance oils dissolve in?
Fragrance oils are hydrophobic and insoluble in water. They must always be mixed with a suitable carrier:
- Alcohol – ideal for perfumes, sprays and diffusers.
- Vegetable oils – suitable for cosmetics and massage oils.
- Polysorbate 80 – enables mixing with water.
- Augeo – perfect for diffusers and home fragrances.
