There is no peeling like a peeling! A good peeling or scrub not only softens the skin through exfoliation, but also nourishes the skin, moisturizes it and leaves it soft, smooth and satisfied.
This emulsified bath scrub with the refreshing scent of clementine and a drop of relaxing nutmeg is just that. This bath treat is perfect for spring and summer days, be sure to try it!
Scrubs are my great love. But it wasn't always like that, quite the opposite. I used to shy away from scrubs. That changed when I started mixing my own scrubs! Since then, I can hardly imagine a bath or shower without a scrub.
Carefully formulated scrubs leave your skin soft, smooth and satisfied, so there's no need to spend a lot of time rubbing it in after the bath (which I don't really like). After the peeling bath, you can just jump straight into the duvet, enjoy the delicate feeling on your skin and smell the intoxicating scent.
And today we will make a scrub that can do all this – an emulsified bath scrub with clementine and bergamot.

The creamy base of the scrub contains the perfect amount of sugar, which slowly dissolves on the skin and turns into a bath milk, transforming the water in the bathtub into a silky, fragrant bath. Come and immerse yourself!
The base is mainly coconut oil with a little rice oil (you can replace it with almond, apricot or macadamia oil) and a drop of sea buckthorn oil, which gives the peeling a beautiful sunny color that goes well with the scent of clementine.

If you would like a colorless peeling, simply omit the sea buckthorn. You can also create a yellow-orange color using carrot or rosehip oil.
Cetearyl alcohol is added to the fats, which pleasantly thickens the mixture and makes it rich, and even creamier and fluffier. Cetearyl alcohol also ensures an absolutely wonderful feeling on the skin after washing off the product.

The ingredient that turns an ordinary scrub into a milky cream is the wonderful Polysorbate 80. Polysorbate is a liquid emulsifier that ensures that the product mixes instantly with water. It also makes it easy to rinse grease out of the bathtub or shower. Win-win :)
The scent is conjured from a combination of two essential oils that complement each other perfectly - we definitely recommend trying it! Fresh fruity clementine will support a good mood and bergamot in turn, sophisticated spiciness and the ability to relax stiff muscles. Peeling is very pleasant after waking up during morning showers and during relaxing evening baths. Try it yourself!
What is needed for this?
heat
- 17.5 grams of coconut fat
- 13 grams of cetearyl alcohol
- 10 grams of Polysorbate 80
- 8 grams of rice oil
- 0.75 grams of sea buckthorn oil
add
- 50 grams of sugar
while cooling, add
- 0.25 grams of vitamin E
- 0.3 grams of clementine essential oil
- 0.2 grams of bergamot
How to do it?
Prepare a water bath. Weigh all the ingredients that need to be heated into a heatproof bowl. Place the bowl in the water bath and let all the ingredients dissolve over medium heat.
When everything is dissolved, first prepare an ice bath.
Remove the bowl with the dissolved mixture from the hot water bath and stir the sugar into the mixture. Then place the bowl in the ice bath and stir the mixture.
After about a minute in the ice bath, remove the bowl and add the vitamin E and essential oils to the mixture. Mix well.
If the mixture is still quite liquid, place the bowl back in the ice bath and stir everything patiently as the mixture cools until the product starts to form a so-called trail (you will see a “trace” of the stirrer in the mixture).

Once the trace remains in the mixture for a few seconds, it is the right time to transfer the product to the chosen container. We like to use 100ml aluminum cans, but the product will also look good in plastic cans or other 100ml containers (be careful with glass, it is not ideal for the shower :)).
And that's it!
