Characteristics

• This plant-based solubilizer is sold as a semi-solid or liquid raw material and is also used as a surfactant and cleaning agent in cosmetic products.
• It was designed for use as an emulsifier in aqueous formulations containing a water phase.
• It has a yellow color with a slight odor.
• Does not contain any material derived from animals.

Use

• PEG 40 is recommended for use as a primary, if not sole, solubilizing agent or emulsifier in cosmetic applications such as sprays, serums, lotions, and oil-free creams.
• Added to oils in the oil phase for its stronger solubilizing properties.
• Can be used at a ratio of 0.01 to 0.05%.
