Properties and Uses

Mandarin oil is a versatile essential oil with many applications:

• Cosmetics – added to creams, lotions, and massage oils. Suitable for oily or problem skin thanks to its refreshing and toning qualities. Its mildness makes it popular in children’s skincare.
• Aromatherapy – when diffused, it creates a soothing and pleasant atmosphere, often associated with relaxation and balance.
• Perfumery – contributes sweet citrus notes to blends and pairs well with other essential oils.
• Household – used in natural air fresheners, laundry scents, and cleaning products for a fresh, clean fragrance.

Note: Mandarin oil may cause photosensitivity. Avoid sun exposure on treated skin for at least 12 hours after application.

What dissolves essential oils?

Essential oils are hydrophobic and do not dissolve in water by themselves. They must always be blended with a carrier:

• Alcohol – ideal for perfumes, sprays, and air fresheners.
• Vegetable oils – perfect for massage blends and cosmetics.
• Polysorbate 80 – enables blending with water.
