- White powder, anti-caking agent
- Magnesium salt of octadecanoic acid. White solid, insoluble in water. It is generally considered safe. It is mainly made from natural stearic acid.
Features and uses
- It is used as a defoamer, stabilizer, anti-caking agent and most often as a filler in the production of capsules and tablets, also to bind sugars in hard candies and in various children's cosmetic products.
- It is mainly used in decorative cosmetics, for example compact powders, blushes and eye shadows. In emulsions, it disperses into the oil phase.
