Laundry gel made from Marseille soap

Ingredients

• 100 g grated Marseille soap
• 100 g sodium carbonate
• 4 l hot water
• Essential oil (optional)

Preparation method

1. Place the grated Marseille soap into a larger container and pour hot water over it.
2. Stir thoroughly until the soap has completely dissolved.
3. Add the sodium carbonate and mix the blend well again.
4. Leave the container to stand and allow the blend to cool completely for 24 hours.
5. If necessary, blend the cooled gel until smooth using a stick blender.
6. Finally, you can stir in a few drops of essential oil and pour the gel into a sealable container.

Marseille soap: Forms the washing base of the entire gel. It is known for its gentle composition, which effectively dissolves common dirt while remaining gentle on fabric fibres.

Sodium carbonate: Softens water, significantly increasing the effectiveness of the soap, and helps remove grease and more stubborn stains.

Essential oil: Gently scents the laundry. Add it only after the blend has cooled completely so that its aromatic components do not evaporate due to the heat.
