Description

It's been a few years since I started washing my hair with the No Poo method - that is, without shampoo. I don't use shampoo, i.e. the classic shampoo in a tube that foams. No conditioner, no hair spray, no gel, no irons, no hair dryer... just nothing.

I must confess that I somehow misunderstood the name of this hair washing method - i.e. No Poo. It means correctly - No Shampoo, i.e. the abbreviation of the word shampoo - No Shampoo. Of course, I got it wrong and thought that Poo meant... in short, Poo - in translation, poo. I translated it as the Bezsr*ček method. :) (I didn't mean to be rude, but that's exactly how I understood it.)

Well, I may have misunderstood and translated it, but that's actually how it is. You really aren't using anything bad on your hair. But for me it will always mean the no-shit method. :)

For others: No Poo = No Shampoo :)

How to wash your hair without shampoo?

There are many such possibilities. Hair can be washed with baking soda, powder shampoos and even flour. Yes, buckwheat or chickpea flour works great too. Apple cider vinegar mixed with water can then be used instead of conditioner. There is one more option, and that is to wash your hair only with water. If you know how to do it, it really works.

I replace various masks or care serums with natural masks made from avocado, yogurt, eggs, hibiscus, herbs and others. I use jojoba oil, Ayurvedic oil made from various herbs or coconut oil on the ends and scalp. Sometimes I make a hot coconut oil mask. I wrap my head with a towel and leave it on (even overnight).

Ayurvedic herbal shampoo powder

It is green in color and smells almost like henna (but pleasant, not that strong). The shampoo is of plant origin, contains 6 Ayurvedic herbs such as Shikakai or Amla. It is a very gentle shampoo, suitable even for sensitive and problematic skin.

In addition to water, you can also add oils, essential oils, etc. to the shampoo during preparation.

The shampoo is 100% organic. It does not contain parabens, phthalates...only herbs

Use

It depends on the length of the hair, I have medium length. You can adjust the amount of shampoo. If you have longer hair or a lot of it, you can double the amount.

You can adjust the amount even if you feel that the hair is not washed as you would like. Not satisfied? Use double the amount of water and powder.

What does it take?

- 40 grams of warm water

- 15 grams of powdered shampoo

- Whisk or fork

- Bowl

How to do it?

Mix warm water with the powder and mix well.

Comb your hair thoroughly. A comb without metal or plastic fibers is ideal. For example, I use a boar bristle comb. When combing, you spread the oil on the skin throughout the hair. If you don't, your hair could end up greasy at the roots. It is also recommended to thoroughly scratch the hair with your nails to remove grease and impurities.

Then wet your hair. Squeeze out the excess water so that the shampoo does not run. Just keep them moist.

Apply the paste gradually with your fingers to the hair. Start at the roots and work your way up. Massage the hair and skin so that the shampoo reaches all the hair.

Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Never comb dry hair, this will only break it. Dry them with a towel by simply squeezing, not scrubbing. Wet hair is very fragile. It is ideal if you let your hair dry freely, without using a hair dryer.

After drying, comb the hair.

TIP

For hydration, you can massage a few drops of oil – jojoba, coconut, olive – into your hair. Just a few drops that you spread in the palm of your hand and then massage into your hair. Do not apply oil to the roots if you do not want to lose volume.

Detoxification – switching from classic shampoos to the No Poo method

If you are just switching to the No Poo method, expect a phase when the hair will detoxify and get used to the new method. They can be greasy to begin with, even if you wash them, they won't look good (I wore a ponytail all the time because they didn't have any volume). But gradually it starts to improve. This phase can take several months, but it is worth it because you want something better for your hair. You want to get rid of unnecessary chemical "tricks" and this is a much better choice for your hair. You will see that after this phase the quality and appearance of the hair will gradually improve.

You can use powder shampoo or alternate different No Poo washing methods. Everyone is comfortable with something different. Feel free to experiment and see what suits you.

And what exactly is it?

Powder shampoo for NoPoo is of plant origin and consists of a synergy of six Ayurvedic plants that are popularly used for gentle washing and in hair and skin care.

You will find Shikakai, Reetha, Neutral Henna, Amla, Sidr and Kapoor Kachli in it. Plants that boast of washing properties and strengthening, soothing and smoothing properties, making hair soft, healthy and fresh.

Use as a detoxifying shampoo before colouring or for making your own No Poo shampoo. You can add a plant oil, essential oil and an active ingredient to make a great all-plant shampoo that will give your hair softness, shine and strength.

It is so gentle that it is suitable for very sensitive and problematic skin.

A 100% plant-based and certified organic product without perfume or synthetic dye, paraben, phenoxyethanol, phthalate, petrochemical derivative (paraffin, silicone, PEG ...), non-GMO material and no animal products.

How to use and apply?

You can use it alone or enrich it with other substances.

For basic use, mix about two tablespoons with warm water and apply to hair. Leave on for 3-5 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

However, we recommend enriching the already excellent base with other substances and embellishing it to absolute perfection - mix:

powder base + one active ingredient + vegetable oil + 1-2 drops of fragrance

What active substance?

Provitamin B, for example, soothes them.

Green clay or spirulina is a detoxifying agent (put one teaspoon per approx. 25g of shampoo).

Phytokeratin or rice protein is hydrating.

Plant ceramides are revitalizing (dose 1ml).

But you can add much more! For example: vegetable collagen, fucocert, keratin, liquid silk, coconut milk,... And more and more. :)

What vegetable oil?

Growth and density are supported by castor oil.

Coconut oil is nourishing.

Avocado oil is protective and strengthening.

What scent? According to your preference!

Cedar, patchouli, geranium are used against dandruff.

Chamomile or lavender is soothing.

Growth is supported by rosemary or coffee.

Will you try it? :)
