What do fragrance oils dissolve in?

Fragrance oils are hydrophobic and do not dissolve in water on their own. They must always be mixed with a carrier:

• Alcohol – suitable for perfumes, sprays and diffusers.
• Vegetable oils – ideal for massage blends and cosmetics.
• Polysorbate 80 – allows mixing with water.
• Augeo – suitable for diffusers and perfumes.
