This emulsifying wax serves as a means of stabilizing emulsions - i.e., to combine oil and water components in cosmetic products. Thanks to it, we prevent the separation of the "oil" and "water" phases in creams, milks, lotions, etc. The use of this wax ensures that the emulsion remains homogeneous, creamy and stable during storage.
Advantages:
easier production of stable creams without separation
smooth texture
Compatibility with common oils and water
helps with skin care by keeping the emulsion in place
Solubility: emulsifying wax is not soluble in water on its own – it must be melted in the oil phase.
Melting temperature: the wax is heated together with the oil components to approximately 70–75 °C until it is completely liquid.
When both phases (oil + water) are at a similar temperature (approx. 70–75 °C), the emulsion is formed by mixing (ideally with a high-speed mixer).
Dosage: it is recommended to use approximately 4–5% of the total weight of the recipe
Rapid cooling and stirring during cooling helps to set the emulsion.
With this wax you can prepare e.g.:
Moisturizing creams and lotions
body lotions
balms (with a higher fat content)
hydrating gels (if supplemented with gels and stabilizers)
skin cleansing milk
eye creams (in lower concentrations, gentler formulations)
some types of serums
INCI Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20
