Manufacturing Process

Preparing the butter: Weigh the shea butter into a clean bowl. If you store it in a cold place, let it soften at room temperature for a few hours before making. Soft butter whips better and creates a gentler structure.

Whipping the base: Start whipping the shea butter at a low speed. Once it is broken up and larger lumps are gone, gradually increase the speed. Whip until the butter is smooth and uniform.

Adding oil and vitamin E: Add the cranberry oil, vitamin E, and essential oil to the whipped butter. Whip again to combine all the liquid components well with the base.

Adding starch: Add the starch ideally through a fine sieve to prevent clumps. Continue whipping until the butter lightens and achieves a fluffy texture.

Filling: Gently transfer the finished butter into a clean wide-mouthed jar. It is easier to scoop from such a jar and the fluffy structure remains undisturbed during filling.

Function of Ingredients

Shea butter: The base of the recipe. Rich, nourishing and whips well at room temperature. Helps create a rich buttery texture.

Cranberry oil: Softens the shea butter and makes it easier to apply. Other lighter oils like apricot, almond, sunflower, jojoba or grape seed work well too.

Starch: Reduces greasy skin feeling and makes the butter appear lighter. It also helps the fluffy texture.

Vitamin E: An antioxidant suitable for products with oils and butters. It helps slow down rancidity of the fats and supports finished product stability.

Whipped body butter is a good recipe when you want to quickly make honest care from a few ingredients. No need for heating or complicated process, just soft butter, some patient whipping, and the right oil ratio. The result is a fluffy balm that pleases dry skin and any home cosmetic lab.
