Coenzyme Q10 is a valued active ingredient in cosmetics, which is naturally present in human skin. In cosmetic formulations, it is used primarily in products intended for the care of the skin and skin exposed to external influences. It is suitable for day and night cosmetics and is often part of formulas aimed at mature, dry or stressed skin.
By adding it to your homemade cosmetics, you enrich the products with an ingredient that is commonly used in modern cosmetic production and is compatible with a variety of oils and emulsions.
How to work with it:
Coenzyme Q10 is soluble in oils, not in water. It is added to the formulas in the oil phase, ideally when heated to approximately 50–70 °C to ensure its uniform dissolution. The recommended dosage is usually in the range 0.1–1% of the total amount of the product. In lower concentrations, it is also suitable for light emulsions and serums.
It is sensitive to light and oxidation, so it is recommended to store finished products in opaque packaging and combine it with suitable oils or antioxidants.
