Coco-caprylate (coco-silicone) is a natural alternative to silicones that will give your cosmetics a silky glide and a luxurious feel without weighing them down. It is obtained from coconut oil and creates a light, velvety film on the skin and hair, making them instantly smoother, softer and more pleasant to the touch. It helps reduce the feeling of greasiness in oil formulas and improves the spreadability of creams and serums. In hair care, it adds shine, smoothes the surface of the hair and leaves it soft without a heavy silicone effect. Coco-caprylate is a emollient ester similar to silicones that gives skin and hair silky smoothness, pleasant glide and shine, but comes from natural sources. It is great for use in creams, oils and conditioners where you want to achieve a soft, non-greasy and luxurious feel.

Coco-Caprylate, also known as “coco silicone,” is a lightweight plant-based emollient used as an alternative to synthetic silicones. In cosmetics, it provides a smooth glide, fast absorption, and a non-greasy feel on skin and hair.

In home production, it is used in skin creams, body lotions, oil serums, makeup bases and hair products. It helps improve the spreadability of the product and reduces the feeling of heaviness after application. In hair cosmetics, it contributes to a smoother appearance of hair.

It is suitable for all skin types including combination and oily skin.

• How to work with it (solubility, temperatures, dosage)

    • Liquid oily emollient. Soluble in oils and fats. Insoluble in water. Added to the oil phase (B). Can be heated together with the oil phase (up to approx. 70 °C). Recommended dosage: usually 2–20% depending on the type of product. Compatible with vegetable oils, esters, waxes and common emulsifiers.
