Characteristics

100% natural essential oil obtained by steam distillation. Camphor essential oil comes from the wood and leaves of the Cinnamomum camphora tree. When exposed to air, the oil oxidizes and turns into raw camphor (in pure form white waxy crystals). It is a natural source of camphor, not pure camphor. The oil has an intense, refreshing and balsamic aroma.

Properties and uses

Camphor essential oil is valued for its strong, invigorating scent that brings a sense of energy and vitality.

• Aromatherapy: Used to freshen the air, purify spaces, and promote focus and mental clarity.
• Massage: Added to massage blends for muscle and joint relaxation, often used in sports massage or stiffness relief.
• Cosmetics: Incorporated into creams, toners and lotions for oily or impure skin. Suitable for shampoos and hair treatments.
• Home use: Perfect in deodorants and room sprays. Can also be part of insect-repellent blends.
• Perfumery: Serves as a base note in fragrance compositions, providing a fresh, herbal and balsamic tone.

How do essential oils dissolve?

Essential oils are hydrophobic and do not dissolve in water. They must always be mixed into a carrier:

• Alcohol – ideal for perfumes, sprays and air fresheners.
• Vegetable oils – suitable for massage blends and cosmetics.
• Polysorbate 80 – allows mixing with water.
• Augeo – suitable for perfumes and diffusers.
