Do you want skin that looks healthy, fresh, and naturally radiant? Try making a homemade oil serum that combines carefully selected plant oils, squalen, and active ingredients.

The formula of this facial serum is an ode to our favorite “summer” oils. It consists of a harmoniously prepared blend of anti-inflammatory, skin barrier-strengthening and antioxidant-packed oils obtained from plants and berries that are the essence of the sunny summer months. It smells of fresh air and reminds of a morning walk in the grass while picking just-ripened berries. And of course, it also brings the best care for our skin.
A lightweight yet intensely nourishing serum that evens out skin tone, soothes and promotes natural radiance. With a carefully selected combination of essential fatty acids and soothing ingredients, it is suitable for tired, dull or sensitive skin that needs brightening. With its strong anti-inflammatory and healing properties, it will also delight problematic skin prone to acne or eczema. Be sure to mix it up!

What do we use in the brightening serum?

Light and quickly absorbed, raspberry oil is great for irritated and acne-prone skin. It feels very pleasant on the skin, giving it softness and freshness while helping to even out its tone. If you've ever read about raspberry oil, you've probably come across a somewhat misleading claim that it can work as a natural sunscreen. Raspberry oil is divine, but it certainly won't replace sunscreen. Just for completeness, so you don't expect effects from a serum that it can't deliver :)
The second oil from summer berries is cranberry oil . It stands out for its balanced ratio of omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. It supports hydration and elasticity of the skin and at the same time has an anti-inflammatory effect. It has a beneficial effect on sensitive and reactive skin.

We often praise plum oil , because its scent is absolutely captivating and we simply cannot resist it. Plum oil has a velvety texture and is one of the luxurious oils that deeply nourishes, supports skin elasticity and leaves it soft and radiant.

Add evening primrose oil to the fruit oils. Evening primrose oil is extremely beneficial in skin care, especially if it is dry, sensitive, irritated or mature. Thanks to its high content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), it helps restore the skin barrier, relieves redness and irritation and supports the natural regeneration of the skin. It relieves the symptoms of eczema, rosacea or hormonal acne, as it has strong anti-inflammatory effects. It is well absorbed and does not leave a greasy film, so it is also suitable for sensitive skin around the eyes or as part of night care. With regular use, it leaves the skin soft, supple and healthy-looking.

We finish it all off with olive squalene , which gives the serum a lightness and silky feel. It helps active ingredients penetrate the skin, smoothes its texture and leaves it soft to the touch. Olive squalene is also a great base for serums containing more sensitive, less stable oils, such as raspberry or evening primrose. Unlike many vegetable oils, squalene does not contain polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are quickly oxidized. Squalene will therefore help extend the overall shelf life of the mixture. At the same time, its fine texture improves the spreadability and absorbability of the entire serum without clogging pores or weighing down the skin.

We will improve the serum with two more active ingredients. Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that protects not only the oils themselves from oxidation, but also the skin from premature aging. It supports the overall healthy and vital appearance of the skin. Bisabolol , a substance obtained from chamomile, you may know for its soothing effects. Bisabolol reduces redness, promotes regeneration and is also suitable for sensitive skin.
Finally, a drop of clary sage essential oil and that's it. This oil is a small aromatic treasure with a delicate herbal, sweet scent that will calm not only the skin, but also the mind. It is great for combination, oily or hormonally unbalanced skin - it helps regulate sebum production, reduces inflammation and restores balance to the skin. It also has harmonizing effects on the psyche, so it will delight even in times of tension, stress or PMS. Just a few drops in the serum and the whole mixture will gain a subtle touch of calm and feminine lightness.

We can make a brightening serum in a few minutes. You just need to weigh everything and mix it in a bottle. As for the packaging, we recommend a dark bottle, ideally made of black glass, which reduces the effect of light, helps maintain the contents in good quality and protects the product from UV rays. For less stable oils, a beautiful black bottle with a bamboo pipette is perfect.
