What do fragrance oils dissolve in?

Fragrance oils are hydrophobic and do not dissolve in water. They must always be mixed into a carrier:

• Alcohol – ideal for perfumes, sprays and air fresheners.
• Vegetable oils – suitable for massage blends and cosmetics.
• Polysorbate 80 – allows mixing with water.
• Augeo – suitable for diffusers and home fragrances.
